The St. James Police arrested and charged a man on Wednesday, July 16 who was wanted in connection with three murders committed in Vietnam in the parish nearly eight years ago, on December 14, 2006. He is 26-year-old Orane Bernard otherwise called ‘City Puss’ of Flanker, St. James. Bernard was arrested on warrant at the Sangster’s International Airport after he fled the island for the United States of America the same year. Reports are that about 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2006, three men were on premises in Vietnam when they were attacked and killed by gunmen. The dead men were identified as 20-year-old Romaine White otherwise called ‘Nion’, 45-year-old Garth Cooke and Lloyd Hudson all of Flanker. Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of Acroy Sterling and Lennox Bernard who were later charged. However, Orane Bernard, who had fled the country, returned to the island on Wednesday of this week and was accosted by the Police. He is to appear before the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate’s Court later this month.In the meantime, the Divisional Commander Senior Superintendent Egbert Parkins commended the men and women under his command for their hard work and intelligence gathering that led to the swift arrest of Orane Bernard.
