Returning from party, 2 killed one critical in hospital

A night of partying and fun for three brothers described as ‘peas in a pod’, because of how close they were, ended tragically for two and has left the other in critical condition in hospital. The three brothers Simon, Lambert and Martin Davidson were returning home from a friend’s party in Nine Miles, St Ann when tragedy struck. Two other men, one of them a friend to Simon and his friend, were also travelling in the ill-fated car being driven by Lambert when it collided with a truck. The nasty accident occurred along the Minard main road in Brown’s Town and claimed the lives of Simon Davidson also called ‘Simple Kid’ 31-year-old mechanic of Exchange and his older brother Lambert Davidson 35-year-old barber of Buckfield. The third brother, Martin Davidson of Middle Street in Exchange was transported to the St. Ann’s Bay hospital and later to KPH where he remains in critical condition. The tragic death of the brothers has plunged their family into mourning, and at the same time, they are sending up prayers for the speedy and full recovery of Martin. The injuries sustained by the other two men are not considered life threatening.

Simon’s baby’s mother with whom he lived in Exchange, Tanicia Senior, said she had a bad feeling about him attending the party. She said she expressed this to him but he went to the party anyway. “Mi see a patoo two days ago and mi sey to mi grandmother that somebody fi me a go dead and she sey she no know if dem something deh a true,” she continued. “Me call Simon same time and tell him sey me have a bad felling about him going to the party and me beg him fi no go and him sey him caan miss him friend party.” Ms Senior said on several occasions during their relationship which has produced a six-year-old daughter and one-year-old son she expressed concerns about some of his decisions. “Every time him always sey, ‘Andeen if me did listen to you…’, only this time him no live fi sey so,” Ms Senior said with pain and grief etched across her face. She described Simon Davidson as a very hardworking, kind and loving individual. Ms Senior said Davidson was very kind and loyal to his friends and didn’t know how to say ‘no’. She said Simon who would celebrate his 32nd birthday in August was a very good father to her two children. He had four other children. She said he loved his mother dearly.

“I don’t know how me ago manage, a him alone use to work and him tek good care of him children,” she said of the mechanic, who also sold used cars for a living. Simon and Lambert Davidson were very close and relatives say Simon was closer to Lambert than his own twin brother, who was not among the three in the accident. Lambert worked as a barber at a shop at Short Lane in Ocho Rios and in the Cayman Island where he was scheduled to return in two weeks. One of the mothers of Lambert Davidson’s children, Shelly-Ann Johnson said Lambert loved his children and took good care of them. She said he was also ambitious and hardworking. “He was a very happy person, him no mek nothing stress him,” she said. She said he and his friends were to host a party at Short Lane on August 1. Lambert had two children, age seven and three, with Ms Johnson but The Times was told he has several other children. The North Coast Times was told that the brothers originate from Manchester and came to St. Ann in search of a better life. Relative say the mother of the deceased brothers, Clara Davidson, has taken their deaths very hard. She journeyed to St. Ann on Sunday after news of the tragedy broke and she has often been breaking down in tears since. “She nah tek it good at all, a pure cry she a cry,” a relative told The Times. According to reports from the Brown’s Town police, about 8 a.m Sunday, July 13, the three brothers and two other males were traveling towards Discovery Bay from Brown’s Town in a Toyota Corolla motor car when the vehicle slammed into a truck. It is believed that Lambert who was the driver fell asleep at the wheel.
