SCISSORS USED IN KILLING OF A 21-YEAR-OLDÂ MALE

The St Mary police have arrested a 15-year-old boy for a murder in the parish on Friday, March 20, 2026.
The police say the boy was arrested after a 21-year-old was killed in a fight in the community of Belfield Works on Friday. Police have not released the name of the man killed.
Reports to the North Coast Times are that about 9:45 Friday morning, the 15-year-old boy and a 21-year-old male had an argument that developed into a physical confrontation. It is believed the boy used a pair of scissors to stab the 21-year-old.
He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police took the boy into custody and seized the weapon believed to have been used in the murder.
The police are continuing their investigations into the matter and are appealing to anyone with information that may assist to contact the Port Maria Criminal Investigations Branch at 876-994-2224 or 876-333-9530, or Crime Stop at 311.
The St. Mary Police say they remain committed to maintaining public safety and urge members of the public to seek peaceful conflict resolution and report disputes before they escalate.
