Two men accused of assault, for beating up a youth and taking away his cell phone, had their case dropped when they appeared before the St Ann Parish Court on October 5.
They are Shawnie Sylvara and Kasheem Dixon.
Reports are that other men were also involved in the unlawful act but only these two were pointed out and caught.
Allegations are that the complainant, who is a minor, was beaten by a gang and his cell phone stolen.
After establishing that there was some form of relation between the complainant and the accused, the minor decided not to carry on with the case and it was dropped.
Jude Wilson, disgruntled about persons who “prey on the vulnerable and take their belongings,” assured the accused that if another matter arises with the two, he would “sort them out.” He also told them to warn their “chargies.” He had also made mention of not sending them home if they did not declare who the other cronies were.
They had agreed to declare who the other assailants were but were not asked to make such utterances before the court. The charges were dropped and Judge Wilson warned them not to “come back here”.
