MEAL PROVIDER AT ANNOTTO BAY CHARGED FOR DELIVERING PROHIBITED ITEMS TO INMATES

A woman who has the business to deliver food to inmates at Annotto Bay lock up, St Mary, has been arrested and charged for taking prohibited items into the cell block.
She is 43-year-old Tavia Whitely of Annotto Bay, St. Mary.
Whitely has been arrested and charged with introducing prohibited articles into a police lockup and possession of ganja at the Annotto Bay Police Station lockup.

Police reports are that on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at about 2:30 p.m., Whitely, a concessionaire responsible for providing meals, delivered food to the prisoners. A search of the food containers was conducted, revealing a hidden package containing prohibited items.
According to the police, the package contained prohibited items, including alcoholic beverages, vegetable matter resembling ganja, other smoking paraphernalia, and a battery-operated device.
The accused was denied station bail and is scheduled to appear in the St. Mary Parish Court.
The Saint Mary Police say they remain committed to ensuring the safety of all lockups.
