A woman has received an eight-month sentence for wounding another in St Ann.
Sentenced for unlawful wounding is 27-year-old Christina Allen. Sentence was handed down in the St Ann’s Bay Parish Court by parish judge Vaughn Facey on Wednesday, July 19.
Allegations are that on February 7, Allen used a knife to stab the female complainant causing injuries.
Allen pleaded guilty to the charge.
She has been in custody for five months.
The judge indicated that Allen could have got a lengthier sentence but there were mitigating factors such as Allen’s age. Allen also does not have any previous convictions and entered a guilty plea from the first appearance in court.
