A woman is now in the custody of the St Ann police after she reportedly stabbed and killed her common law husband in Runaway Bay, St. Ann on Sunday night, February 26.
The couple had two children together.
Dead is 49 year-old Garfield Brooks of Hampstead, Runaway Bay in the parish.
The Times understands that at about 11:30 p.m., the couple who lived with their two children in Hampstead got into an argument.
The argument intensified and Brooks was stabbed in the chest and fell.
The woman then reportedly took her two children to a relative’s house nearby.
The woman returned to the house later that night and discovered that Brooks had succumbed to his injuries.
She then contacted the police and Brooks was taken to the hospital, where his death was confirmed.
The woman was later taken into custody.
The police say that investigations are ongoing into the incident.
