Body found in burnt vehicle in desolate area
Police are searching for a woman who was among the last persons to see ??year-old JUTA operator Kevin Braham who was found dead in his burnt-out pick-up truck at Brittonville near Claremont, Thursday, March 20. Braham, of Greenwich Estate, near Drax Hall, owner of three JUTA buses, was found dead, part of his body on the ground outside the pick-up, in a secluded section of a property off the main road. The woman who works in the tourism industry has gone missing since Friday morning, after she turned up for work at a property near Ocho Rios, St Ann. She left work that morning after co workers told her that police were asking for her. By the time police got there, she had gone, following a telephone conversation with a friend. Police were searching for her all weekend but up to Monday morning had made no contact with her. Police would not give any details about the woman but confirmed that they want to talk to her. Reports to The Times are that Braham left his house and was seen with the woman at the Priory Beach, at the regular Wednesday evening party. It is reported he took home the woman, from Lumsdean near Lime Hall. It is not clear if the woman reached home but source say they believe she was in the vehicle at the spot where it was found burnt out. Police say they have to await a post mortem to determine how Braham died but it is believed he was dead before the fire was lit. Reports are that explosions were heard before the pick-up was seen on fire in the wee hours of Thursday. Braham’s licenced firearm was reported missing. Police have ruled out suggestions that Brham may have been abducted and taken to the spot where he was killed. They say the passenger seat was found in a reclined position. They want to talk to the woman with whom he was last seen to identify some time lines. When they went to question her at her place of work she had disappeared, taking her bag with her shortly after reporting for work that morning. When the Times went to the home of Mr Braham in the gated community of Greenwich Acres, relatives told us that Mr Bennett’s wife, Sharon could not speak. She was on leave from her job at Lannaman’s port handlers with whom she had worked for nearly 30 years, rising to becoming supervisor at the Ocho Rios Pier, responsible for ground transportation.
