REPORTS SHE DELIVERED AT HOME
A St Mary woman who gave birth to twins last month is now in police custody charged for their death.
She is thirty-three-year-old Tanisha Richardson of Banji Hill district, Days Mountain in St Mary. Ms Richardson was charged with infanticide following an incident at her home between November 18 and 20.
Reports from the Police are that Richardson who suffers from a mental condition was attending a routine check-up with her health care provider when it was discovered that she was no longer pregnant.
Upon further questioning, Richardson allegedly admitted to giving birth and disposing of the infants. Some reports said she delivered the twins at home and then disposed of them in a plastic bag.
Police were summoned. They searched her home and premises but the infants were not found. Richardson was subsequently arrested and charged with infanticide.
Her court date is being finalised.
