DEVETA DOWLING PUTS FAITH UP FRONT

Among the first things Deveta Dowling said about herself after her coronation as St Ann Festival Queen was her connection to God. “I am Apostolic”.
The 28-year-old Marcus Garvey High School Graduate was crowned in the auditorium of her alma mater on Sunday evening, June 22, 2025. UTECH STUDENT IS ST ANN FESTIVAL QUEEN
Miss Dowling has completed her final semester in Midwifery at UTECH and is awaiting graduation in November. She also has journalism in her sights.
Wearing the sash, Miss Jewellery Junction, Ms Dowling charmed the audience with her poise and personality to take the sectional prize, Most Culturally aware, and to win the overall competition.
Her sponsor, Jewellery Junction, is happy to have sponsored her and wishes her a good reign and success in the National Festival Queen Competition.
Ms Dowling is from Parry Town, near Ocho Rios, and is an active member of Bethel Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church in Ocho Rios.
In the first interview after her coronation, she told the North Coast Times that members of her church encouraged her. She dedicated her victory to her mother, Pauline Peters, who encouraged her to enter the competition.
She won cash prizes, gift baskets, a gift voucher from Jewellery Junction, passes to Puerto Seco Beach, and Konoko Falls.
