Questions are being asked about why the four items rendered by schoolchildren at a public tree lighting function in Ocho Rios, St Ann, came from one private prep school and nothing from primary schools.
On Thursday evening, December 15, a tree-lighting ceremony took place at the Ocean Village Shopping Centre in Ocho Rios. This is the resort town’s best-known and largest shopping centre.
One resident in reaching out to The Times questioned why the four school items came from the United Learning Centre, a private prep school five miles away, and none from the nearby well-known Ocho Rios Primary or several other closer primary institutions, including Exchange Primary.
Video shows the Christmas tree being ‘lit’ at the ceremony at Ocean Village Shopping Centre, Ocho Rios.
