WELCOME AND GETTING TO KNOW YOU: Leaders in the St Ann community met last week with the new general manager of Noranda Bauxite Partners and other executives of the company at a luncheon but on by the St Ann-based bauxite producer.It was partly a welcome reception for Antoine Liddell who has taken over as general manager and vice president, since October 1. Former GM Pansy Johnson is now executive chairman. At the luncheon Mrs Johnson introduced Mr Liddell and expressed happiness that since he came to Jamaica in April he and his family have been settling in well. He came from Gramercy, USA to St Ann as financial controller before being named GM and vice president. Mr Liddell, for his part, thanked the community members and staff of Noranda and said the staff had been all good and had being doing well but would be asked to raised their performance to great. He said Noranda would remain a good corporate citizen. Among those at the reception were, Custos of St Ann Norma Walters; Mayor of St Ann’s Bay, Desmond Gilmore, MP for SW St Ann Keith Walford; principal of Brown’s Town High, Johnalson Feraria; Deputy Mayor of St Ann’s Bay Delroy Redway; CEO at St Ann’s Bay Hospital, Leo Garel; journalist Franklin McKnight, general manager NHT Ocho Rios, Dameon McNally and secretary manager of the St Ann Parish Council, Alfred Graham. The luncheon was held at Jewel Runaway Bay Golf Club, on Thursday, November 21.
