A vendor was shot dead in the Highgate Market, St Mary on Saturday.
Dead is 39-year-old Sheldon Watson of Frazerwood, Highgate.
Police report that about 2:45 in the afternoon, Watson and other men were at the back of the market playing cards when a man approached with a gun and opened fire.
Watson and another man were hit and were taken to hospital where Watson died and the other man was admitted.
Other men involved in the card game escaped unhurt.
