UWI STUDENT IS PORTLAND FESTIVAL QUEEN

TIANNA SMITH WINS FROM FIELD OF 7, WITH 2 SECTIONAL PRIZES

PORT ANTONIO, Portland; June 29, 2025

Twenty-two-year-old University of the West Indies student Tianna Smith is Miss Portland Festival Queen 2025.

On her way to taking the crown, she won the awards of Most Active in the community and Most Culturally Aware.

Smith, who attended Titchfield High and Montego Bay High before starting her studies at UWI, was one of the crowd’s favourites among the seven contestants to take the title. The coronation show was well-attended at Port Antonio High School, in the Portland capital on Saturday night, June 28, 2025. She told the North Coast Times in an interview right after her coronation that she planned to represent Portland well while continuing her studies at the UWI

Mikhayla Brown was the first runner-up (second place), and she also won Most Poised, while Nevrona Campbell was adjudged second runner-up or in third place.

Kennessa Edwards won two sectional prizes: Most Popular on social media and Best Performance.

The Portland Coronation show was the latest in parish coronations held to select contestants for the National Festival Queen title. The St Ann Queen was chosen on Sunday, June 22. WHO IS MISS ST ANN FESTIVAL QUEEN?
