There is still no breakthrough in the case of the charred remains of two people found in a burnt van in Moneague in June.
Police have identified them as Andre Wedderburn and Celen Gordon, both of Cardiff Hall, St Ann.
Police said the two are believed to have been in a relationship and at least knew each other.
On May 31, a farmer discovered the burnt vehicle in a heavily wooded area of Moneague and called police. Police then discovered there were two burnt bodies inside.
A post mortem was conducted on the bodies on June 18. The cause of death was undetermined.
Bone samples were taken to the Institute of Forensic Science and Legal Medicine(Forensic Lab)on July 2 and the tests showed the bones matched those of relatives from whom samples were taken.
Police told the North Coast Times that they have no motive for the killing and that investigations continue.
CLAREMONT INCIDENT
At the same time, police have identified the body of a man found in a burnt out vehicle in Claremont in mid May, about two weeks earlier than the Moneague incident. He is Anthony Gallimore of Kingston and referred to as an entertainer and entertainment writer.
In mid-May, police reported the burnt skeletal remains of a man found in Orange Park Claremont. Their investigations indicated that the car that had been burnt had been rented in Kingston.
There was wild speculation about the cause of death and Gallimore’s name was mentioned as the man found.
Police have said the cause of death was undetermined.
Police said that, again, samples were taken to the Institute of Forensic Science and Legal Medicine in mid June and samples collected from relatives of Gallimore and also sent to the lab.
