A man, who allegedly cleaned his house and hid an illegal firearm in an attempt to conceal evidence, will stand trial on February 6 in the St Ann Circuit Court.
The accused is Roshad Moss, alias Shut of Lime Hall in the parish.
He appeared before the St Ann Circuit Court on Friday, October 27.
Moss, who police said was a member of the now dismantled ‘After Dark’ gang, was charged with accessory to murder in relation to the May 29, 2015 shooting death of sixteen-year-old Maurice Cox Jnr.
The teen was accidentally shot by another man, Kevin Rattigan at a house in Sandy Grove, Lime Hall in St Ann. Rattigan is now serving a four-year prison term as he pleaded guilty to manslaughter earlier this year.
In addition to a trial date being set in Moss’ case on Friday in court, subpoenas were ordered for the witnesses.
An application by Moss’ attorney to have his $100,000 bail sum reduced due to a health condition, was rejected by presiding judge Dale Palmer.
The judge indicated that the accused should consider himself to be fortunate as the bail was a generous offer considering the seriousness of the allegations.
However, the judge ordered that Moss be taken for medical attention for jaundice.
Allegations are that Rattigan and other friends, including Cox Jnr were at the home of Roshad Moss in Lime Hall. Moss was reportedly asleep in another section of the house at the time.
It is further alleged that Rattigan was cleaning the gun when it went off and Cox Jnr was shot and wounded. He died at hospital.
Moss then attempted to clean the blood from the house and hid the firearm, which to date has not been recovered.
