THANKSGIVING SERVICE FOR ARIANA GREEN JOBSON

Family Assured ‘It Is Well With My Soul’

A thanksgiving service for the life of Ariana Green Jobson, banker, was held at the York Castle High Auditorium, Brown’s Town on Saturday, July 22, 2023.

Ariana died June 15, at the age of 33, after a long illness.

Part of the gathering at the ThanksgivingService

Ariana was hailed as a leader, a peacemaker in her family, and one who was very knowledgeable about current affairs. Her baking and other homemaking abilities were also celebrated. She was spoken of as having no greater care or concern than for her two children and wider family.

Officiating Ministers were Bishops Dr Andrew Willis and Lloyd Walker.

Many relatives and associates took part in the service including Dihema Langley and Michelle Green Parris who did the first and second readings respectively. Garth Jobson did a song in tribute to his mother.

Tributes also came from Leroy Green, her father, and an item from staff members of Scotia Bank where she worked up to Last year, returning to the job only for a brief period, during her long illness.

Items were also rendered by Simone Keys and Melissa Panton while the eulogy was done by Vulette Feriera, cousin. The Remembrance was done by Beckeisha Gordon and Sharleen Harris.

THE BABY

They reflected on Ariana’s life as the youngest of four children for Velma Feriera. From her early days at basic school in Bamboo through St Hilda’s High and Brown’s Town Community College, she demonstrated brilliance. She relocated to Montego Bay, St James after she finished Community College. Ariana worked at Scotia Bank Montego Bay before being reassigned to the branch in Brown’s Town and then Ocho Rios, St Ann.

(Remembrance)

It is after Ariana extended her family with the birth of her baby Selena, last year June 16, that she became ill and was hospitalized four times before she passed away on June 15, one day before her daughter’s first birthday.

In the remembrance, Ariana’s strong faith in God was spoken of and it was said that especially in the last days of her illness she was surrounded by the love of her family and friends and her last word was to call out to her mother, Velma, who was at the bedside. She had already told those concerned “It is well with my soul.”

Her body was interred at the family plot, Knapdale, St Ann.
