A 17-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of another teen, following a stabbing at a beach in Port Maria, St Mary.
Dead is Rushawn Scott otherwise called ‘Rush’, 16-year-old Student of Cox Street, Port Maria, St. Mary.
Reports from the St. Mary Police are that about 3:30 p.m., on Sunday, December 11, Scott and a group of friends were at Pagee Beach in the parish capital, when a 17-year-old male along with his friends, approached Scott over a long standing feud. An altercation developed during which, a ratchet knife was used to stab Scott in his chest. Scott was taken to hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.
The teenager was charged after an interview.
He cannot be named because he is a minor.
His court date is being finalised. -30-
