THROWN FROM VEHICLE AS IT FLIPPED SEVERAL TIMES

A taxi operator was killed in Highgate when his car overturned, flipped several times, and he was thrown from the vehicle.
The crash took place on Wednesday night, July 22, 2026, along the Highgate Bypass, near St Mary High School, Highgate, St. Mary.

He has been identified as 32-year-old Akeem Marshall of Cromwell Land, Highgate, St. Mary.
Police report that at about 10:10 p.m., Marshall was driving a Toyota Wish motor car easterly along the Highgate Bypass towards St. Mary’s High School when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle. The motor car overturned several times, ejecting the driver, before coming to rest on its wheels in the centre of the roadway.
Marshall sustained severe injuries and was transported to the Annotto Bay Hospital, where he succumbed while undergoing treatment.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision are ongoing.
The St. Mary Police are urging motorists and all road users to exercise due care while using the nation’s roadways by observing the speed limit, avoiding reckless driving, and remaining vigilant at all times.
