Two men — one of them a taxi operator– were killed in St Ann, Tuesday, February 7.
Dead are 62-year-old Kenrick Mignott of Great Pond, Ocho Rios and 20-year-old labourer of Steer Town, both in the parish
Reports are that Mr Mignott, a well-known taxi operator in the large community of Great Pond, Ocho Rios was operating his taxi about 10 p.m. when men posing as passengers asked for a stop. One of them put a gun to his head and demanded money. It is reported that a tussle ensued and he was shot in the head.
One of the men shoved Mr Mignott out of the taxi and they drove away. The car was later found abandoned in Claremont in the parish An undetermined sum of money — some of it bloodied notes — was found in the abandoned vehicle.
In the other murder Tuesday, reports are that Lettman was at his house when about 2 a.m. gunmen entered the yard and opened fire hitting him.
He was pronounced dead at hospital.
