ANOTHER TRIPLE CENTURY FROM TACKY IN HEADLEY CUP QUARTER-FINAL ROUND
Tacky High are continuing their championship-form run in the Grace Headley Cup cricket whipping Munro by 470 runs, in their latest match.
Last week in a similarly high-quality, dominating performance, they beat Ocho Rios High by nearly the same margin of runs, after posting a massive score of more than 500.
(Trevaughn Williams — triple century)
In their match over two days, March 12 and 13, at Tacky grounds in Gayle, Munro won the toss and put Tacky in to bat. Tacky made 564 for 9 declared.
In fact Munro seemed to have the upper hand at 10 for 2 but Aeon Ennis and Marlon Williams first steadied the ship before Trevaun Williams stamped his class on the match.
(Jordan Pinnock took four wickets)
Trevaun Williams scored a triple-century with 332. Useful knocks also came from Marlon Williams, 62, and Jiovanni Richardson 42.
The best bowler for Munro was Demareo Brown who took four for 110.
In their turn at bat, Munro were bowled out for 94 with Bryan Wynter making 20, and Jaheim Bennett 19.
The wreckers for Tacky were Romeo McDonald, four wickets for 26 runs, and Jordan Pinnock four wickets for 31 runs.
Coach of Tacky High Sheldon Pryce said the team is showing more character and determination with every match even as their opponents get tougher. “We don’t want to get complacent,” he told the North Coast Times.
He said the team is preparing hard for their final two matches against powerful opponents Manchester High and May Day High. Both matches are away, in Manchester.
