TACKY, HORACE CLARKE, W MARTIN, ST MARY HIGH GO ON

ST MARY HIGH SCRAPE IN TO DENY A’BAY A PLACE

(Points standing and placement after Thursday’s matches)

Tacky are leading the four schools from Zone ‘I’ going into the play-off for the automatic selection of two for the Inter-Zone Round.

The other three from Zone ‘I’ (St Mary)  are Horace Clarke, Wycliffe Martin and St Mary High.

Tacky are at 17 points following their 2-1 victory over St Mary Technical, Wycliffe Martin 14, following their 2-2 draw with Annotto Bay; Horace Clarke 13, following their 0-1 loss to St Mary High who also finished with 13 points.

St Mary High went into their match against Hoarce Clarke knowing the had to win to force their way into the final four and even a win was not a sure ticket.

Annotto Bay who fought valiantly Thursday, Oct 5, to draw with Wycliffe Martin also have 13 points but an inferior goal difference of eight, compared to St Mary 14.

Annotto Bay’s coaching team says they are disappointed but they have a young team most of whom will still be at school for next year.

Also, in matches yesterday, Iona got three points after Carron Hall who were winless failed to show for their final match.

The teams will now begin playing against each other to decide on the top two automatic qualifiers
