SWIFT ACTION LEADS TO SLAYING OF THIEVES

robber

Quick action by an alert firearm holder reportedly resulted in the death of two men who had held up a taxi operator and his passenger at daylight Sunday morning, July 12. Up to the time of going to press, police had not identified the two men shot dead near at Huddersfield, St Mary. However, sources suggest to the North Coast Times that one was from Boscobel, St Mary and the other from Spanish Town. St Catherine.Reports are the two men boarded a Toyota Corolla motorcar operating as a robot taxi from Ocho Rios heading to Port Maria, about 5 o’clock Sunday morning. There were three other passengers, two of them women, plus the male driver.

ONE STOP

One of the female passengers stopped the car at Rio Nuevo, across from Balmoral Heights and got out. Indications are the woman was suspicious of the men and came off before her stop. At that point one of the men also left the vehicle, asking the driver for time to go and urinate in the bushesWhen he returned to the vehicle he pulled a gun and his crony in the car pulled a knife and held up the other two passengers and the driver. The men then pulled the driver from the vehicle and attempted to drive away the car but it stalled, twice. It is believed that they were unable to drive a gear shift vehicle.

In the confusion and some amount of noise by the passengers left at the road side, a licenced firearm holder who was on the roadside reportedly saw what was going on and challenged the men. One of the men pointed a firearm at him and was shot. It’s not clear if the other had a firearm but he was also shot and killed. One body was found less than one hundred yards away in the Rio Nuevo Resorts scheme and the other was found on the beach about 400 yards away.

Police are investigating.
