The driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash in St. Mary has turned himself in.
The North Coast Times reported Sunday, November 1, 2026, that 56-year-old Deveral Kirkland of Enfield, St Mary, was killed along the Enfield main road Sunday morning. Police said Kirkland was on his early morning jogging routine, about 6 o’clock, when he was struck by a Probox motor car whose driver did not stop.
Kirkland was assisted to the Annotto Bay Hospital by police personnel, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said a 36-year-old taxi driver, accompanied by an attorney, arrived at the Annotto Bay Police Station on Sunday, where he was arrested.
The silver Toyota Probox motor car allegedly involved in the incident was seized. The suspect remains in police custody pending further investigation and charges.
The St. Mary Police are urging anyone with additional information that may further assist the probe, to come forward, as investigations continue.
