Police say they have identified a suspect in the murder of returned
resident and senior citizen, 74-year-old Peggy Aljoe of Discovery
Bay, St Ann.
Ms Aljoe was killed at her home in Bridgewater Drive, Discovery
Bay, St Ann on Wednesday, October 24. Her body was found outside
her house.
A plumber who came to do some work at the house, around 3 p.m.
that Wednesday, was calling out for her and had no response. He went
to a side of the house and saw her body outside.
It appeared she had received a blow to the head with a metal object.
Reports also are that she was dragged from where she had fallen in
her house and thrown in bushes at a fence.
Giving an update on that and other cases, DSP Rudolph Taylor told
the St Ann Municipal Corporation (SAMC) that police had not been
able to clear up that crime. He said they had collected 11 statements.
“We have been assisted by MIT (Major Investigative Task Force)
detectives from headquarters in Kingston. As I speak they are now in
Trelawny doing some investigations we have identified a suspect and
so we continue to pursue that matter,” DSP Taylor told the SAMC last
Thursday, November 8.
