A stormy meeting is expected tomorrow at Steer Town Academy St Ann over issues at the school.
On Wednesday evening TVJ News confirmed that there is a regional Caribbean CXC investigation into reported cheating in the 2022 CSEC Examinations.
Reports are that at least four teachers at the school have been sent on leave in connection with the allegations. There was no confirmation of cheating, however or of the involvement of any of those reportedly sent on leave over the issue.
The school did well in several subjects including Mathematics and other subjects in the May-June CSEC Examination but reports have emerged that there was widespread coordinated cheating on several examination subjects.
Parents at the school, which has more than 1600 students, in Steer Town, had planned a meeting for Thursday, January 5 to discuss leadership at the school. But during the last few days, there was chatter in WhatsApp groups that the alleged cheating issue was going to be brought up.
The meeting is expected to take place starting at 9 Thursday morning.
