STEER TOWN PRIMARY AND JUNIOR HIGH MAKES ‘MATHS COUNT’

The Steer Town Primary and Junior High School has covered itself in glory with its performance in a regional math competition.The school was invited to participate in a regional mathematics competition which was coordinated by Smart Minds Mathematics. The competition was spearheaded by Amigaye Parke, mathematics coach.  Two quiz teams were formed, a junior and senior team, and were coached by Vivian Howard and Rosemin Barclay-Samuels. The competition was held on May 4, 2015 at the Brown’s Town Primary School.On the day of the quiz, the teams were asked to draw for a place to play. The junior team made it to the semi-finals where they faced off with St. Ann’s Bay Primary. They were placed fourth while the senior team went through all the levels and went up against Brown’s Town Primary for first place. Steer Town Primary and Junior High School came out victorious and were the winners of the trophy.
