Bahia Principe, where the fatal shooting of a taxi operator took place on Monday, has issued a statement calling the incident unfortunate. The resort in Runaway Bay says the safety of staff and guests is always of “utmost importance”

Runaway Bay, Jamaica – “Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts is aware of the incident that occurred at the Bahia Principe Jamaica Resort during the Resort’s Employee Christmas Party on Monday, Dec. 19.
The management and staff of the Bahia Principe Jamaica Resort is extremely troubled by the unfortunate and isolated incident. Local law enforcement is currently investigating. The safety of our guests and team members is always of utmost importance for us. We remain confident in our resort’s security programme and have initiated due protocol while the investigation is underway.
The committed team of both the Grand Bahia Principe Jamaica and Luxury Bahia Principe Runaway Bay operations continues to offer full service to our local and international guests.”
