St Mary wanted man held in Spanish Town

wantedA St Mary man, who was on the run since February in relation to murder, was apprehended in St Catherine on Wednesday, November 30.

The man is Romario Foster, alias Weng.

According to head of the St Mary police, deputy superintendent Dwight Powell, Foster was arrested by the Spanish Town police last Wednesday. He said that Foster was picked up by the St Mary police last Thursday and is expected to be charged for murder soon.

Foster was wanted in connection with the murder of 20-year-old Lamar Stewart of Spring Head, Oracabessa in St Mary.

Police reported that on 9 a.m. on Sunday, February 14 in Spring Head, Oracabessa, Stewart was allegedly involved in a dispute with Foster, when he was stabbed.

Foster fled the scene and was on the run ever since.

In the meantime, two of the parish’s most wanted men still remain on the run.

The men are: 29-year-old Charles Hamilton, alias ‘Tuggy Tuggy’; and Davar Commock.

Hamilton is being sought for questioning in relation to a triple murder in Annotto Bay, St Mary on Thursday, September 8.

Those killed are: 62-year-old labourer Albert Pryce, otherwise called ‘Ali’ of Annotto Bay, St. Mary, 25-year-old Rushell Williams, bartender and her daughter, eight-month-old Aleair Sewell of Swift River, Portland.

Reports are that sometime after 3:00 a.m., residents heard explosions but did not contact the police until about 6:30 a.m. Upon their arrival, the bodies of the three were seen with multiple gunshot wounds in a house.

Hamilton is also being sought for escaping the custody of the Islington police on August 11. He was awaiting sentencing on September 15 in the Home Circuit Court on a charge of shooting with intent after he was found guilty in the St Mary Circuit Court in July.

In the meantime, the police believe that the other wanted man, Davar Commock, can assist them in making a breakthrough into the stabbing death of 42-year-old Orville Francis, a HEART/Trust NTA teacher of Almond Tree Lane, Wilderness, Oracabessa, St. Mary.

Francis was found at his apartment on Monday, February 29 at around 2 p.m. with his throat slashed and several stab wounds over his body.

The police are still appealing to anyone with information to come forward and assist them.
