CHARGED IN CONNECTION WITH 2022 SHOOTING
PORT MARIA, St Mary; May 12, 2025
A St. Mary wanted man has been captured in Portland.
He is 33-year-old Jason Anderson, o/c “Skidda” or “Skebo”, a construction worker of Sandside District, Port Maria, St. Mary, and Hilltop, Snow Hill, Portland.
Anderson was listed as wanted in connection with a 2022 shooting incident in Sandside, St. Mary.
The St Mary Police report that on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at about 9:45 a.m., Anderson was apprehended during an intelligence-led operation in the Snow Hill area of Portland, where he was spotted cutting grass along the main road.
He was later formally charged by the Port Maria CIB with illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, and wounding with intent.
Police said the charges stem from an incident on March 9, 2022, in which Anderson allegedly shot and injured a construction worker who was working on a wall in the Sandside community. Prior to the shooting, an argument developed between the two men, during which Anderson allegedly issued a threat. He left the scene and returned with a firearm. He reportedly fired shots, one of which struck the complainant in the right wrist.
Anderson is scheduled to appear in the Port Maria Parish Court on Thursday, May 15, 2025.
