Row carried over from one day into next with bloody end
A 17- year-old boy from St Mary has been charged with the murder of a man at a plaza on Main Street, Highgate, St. Mary on Thursday, March 16.
Dead is 55-year-old Leopold Graham, otherwise called ‘Gary’ or ‘Pata Cat’, a labourer of Hibicus Avenue, Highgate in the parish. The teen cannot be named as he is a minor (under 18).
Reports are that the two had a dispute on Wednesday and people from the community quashed it, after Graham was injured and bloodied.
However, on Thursday morning, about 6:30, the dispute flared again and Graham used a piece of board to hit the teen. According to police, the teen then used a knife to stab Graham. The Police were alerted and Graham was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead
An investigation was launched and the teen was arrested and later charged on Friday, March 17 following a question and answer session in the presence of his attorney. His court date has not been finalized.
