ST MARY TECHNICAL LET CHANCE SLIP AGAINST TITCHFIELD

ST MARY HIGH FACES PORT ANTONIO WEDNESDAY

PT ANTONIO, Portland; Oct. 8, 2024

St Mary Technical could have made life difficult for St Mary High on Tuesday, October 8, if they had not let their lead slip and the match they had in hand fall to Titchfield High.

In the daCosta Cup encounter at Carder Park in Port Antonio, Titchfield came from behind and took a 2-1 win cementing  their second place in Zone ‘M’ while St Mary Tech  may be left looking in on the contest reaching the 32-team round.

Aldane Walsh scored for St Mary Technical in the 30th minute, giving his team the lead. They held on to the lead until the 66th minute when Titchfield’s #9 Bryan Williams pulled one back from a goal-mouth melee. Shortly after that, Titchfield broke away down the middle and #7 Riquelme Brown scored from a strong shot for Titchfield to give that team the win.

On Wednesday, October 9, St Mary High will face high-riding Zone M leaders Port Antonio, also at Carder Park in Port Antonio.

Meantime Happy Grove of Hector’s River, Portland continued winning, beating Yallahs 2-1 in Zone ‘L’
