7 ARRESTED FOR IDENTITY INFORMATION POSSESSION IN OPERATIONS ACROSS PARISH
PORT MARIA, St Mary; July 31, 2025
Seven people have been arrested in St Mary for Possession of Identity Information, a major offence commonly linked to lottery scamming.
Police say the arrests were made during a series of coordinated intelligence-led operations aimed at disrupting criminal networks involved in cyber-enabled fraud and other related offences.
Commanding Officer for the St. Mary Division, Superintendent Anthony Wallace, commended the dedication and vigilance of the operational teams.

“The St. Mary Division will not allow criminal elements to exploit our communities through identity theft and financial deception,” Superintendent Wallace said. “We will continue to pursue offenders with the full force of the law while working to strengthen community partnerships and public trust.”

The police said the arrests have already put a significant dent in the funding of criminal networks, disrupting their ability to finance other illegal activities, recruit vulnerable individuals, and destabilize communities.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is urging citizens to remain vigilant, safeguard their personal information, and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or by calling 119 or Crime Stop at 311.
