FIESTA OF GAMES, FUN, AND GIVEAWAYS STAGED IN ORACABESSA
ORACABESSA, St Mary, Sept. 8, 2025
Football, netball, and draughts (checkers) matches among adults and fun for the children highlighted the coming together of the St Mary Police and residents of the parish in a celebration of community policing and partnership.
The scenes of fun and togetherness were played out in the (Police) Zone 4 Partnership Fiesta held at the Eden Park Complex in Jacks River, Oracabessa, on August 28, 2025.
A back-to-school treat, equipping students for the new academic year, was also part of the event. The police, through their sponsors, also provided care packages for the elderly

Inspector Patricia Levy-Eccleston, Zone 4 Commander, and her team spearheaded the event, the second such for Zone 4 that covers the Oracabessa, Prospect, Retreat, and Gayle police stations. Zone 1, 2, and 4 so far have held their fiesta, and zone 3 (Highgate, Richmond and Belfield Police stations) will be on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Stockholm Park, Highgate.

(The Jamaica Constabulary Force netball team placed first in the netball competition. Here, Superintendent Anthony Wallace is presenting the trophy to ACP Christopher Phillips, manager of the netball team).
The festivities featured thrilling netball and football matches, an electrifying draught competition with the National Draught Team, and a Kiddies Corner, where children enjoyed free bounce-a-bout, merry-go-round, trampoline rides, and a wide array of their favourite foods.
The Partnership Fiesta’s impact extended beyond parish borders, with out-of-parish teams participating in friendly competition, and numerous new sponsors supporting the initiative.

(The children had fun too)
Superintendent Anthony Wallace said: “This initiative is a collaborative effort between the police and our valued stakeholders such as the church, Justices of the Peace, school community, business community, and the community at large. We are also focused on the children and younger generation because they are our future.”
