ST MARY POLICE AT SCHOOL DEVOTION

ANNOTTO BAY PRIMARY STUDENTS GET LESSONS FROM POLICE

Constable Marlon Garriques of the Community Safety and Security Branch (CSSB) Zone 2, along with his team members, recently led a morning devotion at Annotto Bay Primary School, in Annotto Bay, St Mary. The initiative formed part of the continued outreach efforts by the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) to build stronger relationships with schools and communities across the parish.

During the session, Constable Garriques spoke to the students about Jamaica Day (celebrated nationally on Feb. 27), highlighting its significance in celebrating Jamaica’s rich culture, history, and national pride. He explained that Jamaica Day is more than just wearing black, green, and gold—it is a reminder of the country’s heritage, achievements, and the responsibility each citizen has in nation-building.

The students were encouraged to appreciate Jamaica’s traditions, music, food, language, and heroes who have contributed to national development. The discussion emphasized unity, respect for national symbols, and the importance of embracing positive values such as discipline, respect, and hard work.

The session encouraged open communication between students and the police, reassuring them that officers are approachable and available to assist whenever needed.
