POLICE SAY MAN WAS HIT BY CAR SHORTLY AFTER MIDNIGHT

A St Mary man is dead after he was hit by a car on the Ocho Rios By Pass, St Ann, Monday, April 29.
Dead is Christopher Hawthorne of Charles Town, St. Mary.
Police said they had no further details on him.
Reports from the Ocho Rios police are that shortly after midnight Sunday, about 12:10 a.m., the driver of a Land Rover Discovery motor car was travelling easterly along the roadway when Hawthorne—who was a pedestrian—was hit, in the vicinity of the Buckfield playfield.
Hawthorne was assisted to St Ann’s Bay Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police gave no details about the circumstances of the crash but said the driver of the vehicle was warned for prosecution.
The investigation continues.
