MORE THAN $1 M, GUN STOLEN
A supermarket operator was beaten, his gun taken, and cash and other valuables amounting to more than a million dollars were robbed by armed men on Tuesday night, April 23, in Annotto Bay, St Mary.
Reports to the North Coast Times are that near midnight, the Chinese national was at his place of business Jinlong Supermarket, where he also lives on Main Street, Annotto Bay. He went onto the balcony of the building when he was pounced upon by two men, one armed with a handgun and the other with a knife.

The businessman was ordered into the house where the culprits used duct tape to bind his hands. They used a firearm to slap him as they demanded money and instructed him to hand over firearms and valuables they said he had on the premises.
Following their search of the premises they found cash amounting to over J$100,000. They also packed several bottles of alcoholic beverages and a quantity of assorted cigarettes into a large box.
The thieves also found a Glock 17 9mm pistol with a magazine and 16 rounds.
They also robbed him of a gold chain valued at more than half a million Jamaican dollars (J$500,000) two iPhones with a value of over $300,000.
Quick action by the police from the nearby station led to the recovery, in a lane, of some of the cases of cigarette and alcoholic beverages that had been stolen.
