A St Ann man has been arrested for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition after an incident at his home where he received a wound to the arm.
Thirty-three-year-old Michael Bailey, otherwise called ‘Dallaz,’ chef of Seville, Priory, St Ann, has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition following an incident in his community on Sunday, March 8.

Reports from the St. Ann’s Bay Police are that at about 11:25 a.m., residents made a report to the police regarding a dispute at Bailey’s home. It was further reported that gunshots were heard coming from the residence. Upon arrival, the officers saw Bailey suffering from a wound to his elbow. Police did not indicate what caused the wound or how Bailey sustained it.
A search of Bailey’s house was conducted and a firearm with a magazine affixed containing four rounds of ammunition was found.
Bailey was assisted to the hospital, where he received treatment and was subsequently released into police custody. He was later charged for the offences following a question-and-answer session.
His court date is being arranged.
