ONE OF THREE FATAL CRASHES ON MONDAY
Police have identified the man killed in the bus crash near Faith’s Pen, St Ann, on Monday afternoon, May 5. Several people were injured in the crash of the bus that was taking them from the market in Kingston.
Dead is 66-year-old Michael Allen, Farmer of Pricklypole, St Ann’s Bay, St Ann.
The crash took place only a few yards away from where another involving a truck and a motorcycle occurred that same morning. The North Coast Times reported there were three fatal crashes Monday, the two at Faith’s Pen and another near Claremont, all in southeast St Ann.THREE ST ANN TRAFFIC DEATHS IN ONE DAY
Reports are that at about 5:50 p.m., Allen was a passenger aboard a Toyota Hiace minibus travelling from Kingston towards Moneague in the parish. On reaching a section of the roadway near Village school, the driver lost control of the vehicle, which overturned and then fell onto the road below.
Several people were injured and taken to the hospital, where Allen was pronounced dead. Other injured persons were treated and released.
The St Ann police are investigating.
