Son found dead at gate after involvement in wake
Police have charged a 60-year-old man for the murder of his 14-year-old son in St Ann.
Festus Nevers, mechanic of Inverness district, St. Ann has been charged with the murder of his son, Kashwayne Nevers, at their home on Saturday, March 11.
As the North Coast Times had reported, on Friday night, March 10, the boy left home, apparently without permission and was an active participant in a wake in the community, near Alexandria.
Video footage showed his father removing him from the wake.
Later, residents came upon the boy’s body, with head wounds, outside his gate about 1:30 Saturday morning.
Police took Kashwayne to hospital where death was confirmed.
Area residents went in search of Mr Nevers and handed him over to the police.
An investigation was launched and forensic samples were retrieved which implicated Kashwayne’s father.
