OVER 11 COUNTS AMOUNTING TO $18 M
Police have charged a car dealer in Discovery Bay, St Ann, with several counts of fraud amounting to more than $18 million.
Police say the cases relate to people paying money for vehicles that were not delivered to them and the money was not returned.
Arrested and charged for fraudulent conversion committed in St. Ann Division is 26-year-old Akeem Adamson of Kingston 8. He operated a car mart in Discovery Bay.
Adamson has been charged with eleven (11) counts of fraudulent conversion in the St. Ann Division. Police say several other charges are pending in the Division.
Police list the amounts of money defrauded as low as $740,000 and as high as $4.8 million.
According to the St Ann Police, another charge is pending against Adamson in the Division. Additionally, the St. James Division has preferred several charges against him for similar offences.
He is to attend the St. Ann’s Bay Parish court on March 8, 2024.
