ST ANN ADMIN PROFESSIONALS HOST BACK-TO-SCHOOL FAIR

FIRST EFFORT OF JAAP SERVES 30+ CHILDREN IN ST ANN’S BAY

ST ANN’S BAY, St Ann; Aug. 28, 2025

The Jamaica Association of Administrative Professionals (JAAP) St Ann Chapter hosted a successful Back-to-School Initiative in the Windsor Community of St Ann’s Bay on Saturday, August 23, 2025

The event provided essential school supplies, including bags, books, and stationery to children in need. Refreshments were also provided for more than 30 children in attendance.

The community came together to enjoy a fun-filled day of activities, including domino and chess competitions for the adults and bun bun-eating contest, dance performances, and face painting for the children.

The event exemplified the true spirit of community togetherness and social responsibility, bringing joy and smiles to the faces of the children.

Among those representing JAAP at the event were Immediate Past President Paulett Henry Lynch, Vice President Sharon Williams and Civic Committee Chair, Kacy-Ann Thomas.

Ms Thomas said, “JAAP’s effort to give back to the community is something we do with pride and the organization is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of the vulnerable.

This was the JAAP’s first back-to-school initiative within a community. The association of business professionals normally hosts Xmas treats and makes donations to Edgehill School of Special Education in St Ann’s Bay and St Christopher’s School for the Deaf in Brown’s Town

The association thanked those who contributed to the cause, including members, Discount Mart in St Ann’s Bay; Top Pink in Ocho Rios, Gar Gar Construction; Sophia Dawkins, Manager at JMMB and Racquel Brown Lewis at the St Ann Municipal Corporation.

JAAP meets monthly, every third Wednesday online at 6:30 pm or face to face at 10:00 am on a Saturday at St Ann’s Bay Baptist Church Hall.
