TOP MALE SAYS HE WANTS TO MAKE PARENTS PROUD
Six special awards were presented to top performing students in various categories, at the 2023 graduation exercise of the Monegaue College on Thursday, November 30, at the Gloria Johnson auditorium on the main campus, in St Ann.
The awards were presented at the graduation ceremony for more than 150 students who earned associate and bachelor degrees.

Valedictorian, Nackalia Clarke was covered in glory, receiving two of the special awards. Miss Clarke received the Sagicor Trophy for the Most Outstanding Student in the School of Humanities and the Highest Academic Achiever in the Council of Community Colleges of Jamaica programmes.
The Richard McGibbon Trophy for the Most Outstanding Food and Beverage Management student went to Shara Lee Mendez and, the Winnifred Brown Trophy for Outstanding Academic Performance in the Hospitality and Tourism Programme went to Aaliyah Smikle
The Moneague College trophy for the graduate demonstrating values of dignity, decorum, and discipline went to Treval Fullerton, a student from the first group of students graduating from the Agro Processing Programme.
The Principal’s trophy went to Kerriann Romans-Lewin.
Mr Fullerton told the North Coast Times that he was proud to be selected and wanted to make his family and the college proud. He said he had benefitted greatly from the institution and its teachers.
Ms. Clarke who completed her Associate of Science in Social Work told the North Coast Times that she will be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree. She said she had worked hard and would continue to try to do so, though there were challenges.

The Chairman of the Board of Management Professor John Lindo gave the welcome and steered the graduation proceedings.
Greetings were brought on behalf of Karlene Segree, Regional Director of the Ministry of Education; Region Three, by Fabian Wainwright
Pat Bidart, Senior Technical Advisor CiCan rep/SAGE also brought greetings. The Agro Processing programme is done in conjunction with CiCan ( Colleges and Institutes of Canada) and the college, providing skills in climate-smart agriculture. (SAGE-skills to access the green economy).
Guest speaker was Dr. Kenneth Russell a member of the Board of Management and International Education expert.
Leroy Harvey, Vice Principal of Academic Affairs presented the Bachelors and Associate degrees.
The Special Awards section of the programme was chaired by Jacqueline Thames, Vice Principal of Student and Administrative Affairs.
The Moneague College Ensemble and the College Band also participated in the Graduation exercise.
