MAN, COMPANION ATTACKED IN CAR

A man is dead and his female companion is nursing gunshot wounds following an attack on them at Mahogany Beach, Ocho Rios St Ann, Monday night, September 2, 2024
Police identify the dead man as 45-year-old labourer Shane Mattadeen, otherwise called King of Mahogany Beach, near Pineapple, St Ann, and Norbrook in St Andrew.
Reports are that about 10 p.m. Mattadeen drove up to the beach area and was making his way down a dirt track with a woman aboard his vehicle, at the popular entertainment spot. Shots rang out as gunmen reportedly fired on the vehicle.
Mattdeen was hit several times, including in the head and arm, and the woman was also shot.
Police rushed them to the St Ann’s Bay Hospital where Mattadeen was pronounced dead and the woman treated.
Investigations continue.
