SEVERAL INJURED IN AMBULANCE, BUS CRASH

MASSIVE TRAFFIC PILE UP AFTER SALEM CRASH

Several people were injured Tuesday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash along the Salem/Runaway Bay main road in St Ann.

A private ambulance, a coaster bus, and a Toyota Probox motor car were involved.

Reports are that sometime after 2 p.m., the Probox, heading west t from St Ann’s Bay, was making a right turn from the main road into the road at Jewel Paradise Cove when it was hit by the Life Call ambulance heading in the opposite direction. The out-of-control ambulance then slammed into a Coaster bus carrying hotel workers, heading west toward Trelawny. The bus and the ambulance were badly damaged.

The ambulance driver was reportedly hurt as well as several people in the Coaster bus. Police and Fire personnel responded quickly and several people were taken to St Ann’s Bay Hospital.  There were no details about a passenger and a medical staff in the ambulance.

The crash caused a massive traffic pileup on the narrow roadway where there was little control except at the site itself

Police are investigating.
