SUDDEN BANK-TO-BANK WATER RISE
A search is continuing along the Castleton River, in St Mary, where two people were reported washed away Thursday afternoon, September 12.
Reports are that the two were in the river near Castleton when a burst of bank-to-bank water caught them and others by surprise. It had been raining heavily in the catchment of the river.
One of those reported missing was identified as 19-year-old Chrisann Stephens.
Reports are that area residents, joined by the police, were searching for the two Thursday and called off the search about dusk.
The search was continuing Friday morning, September 13.
