A senior police officer has told the North Coast Times that Demar Scott is expected to be slapped with rape and attempted rape charges within days.
As we went to press on Monday, October 1, Scott was still in police custody and had retained a lawyer. He was held Friday.
The senior officer who spoke on condition of anonymity said “there are different stories being promulgated”. He said he has seen and heard speculations over the incident. However he said he was pretty sure that Scott would be charged.
“The complainants’ story is believable….something someone would do. In the absence of any other evidence, he will be charged,” the officer said.
He confirmed reports that Scott was wanted in St Elizabeth for burglary.
He said identification in that instance was “pretty convincing” and was by fingerprint. There were other reports on social media last week of Scott being wanted for rape but those have been discounted.
