SANDALS DUNN’S RIVER WINS BIG AT NATIONAL QUALITY AWARDS

HOTEL SHINES IN BUREAU OF STANDARDS, MINISTRY OF INDUSTRY INVESTMENT & COMMERCE AWARDS

You often hear about hotels winning awards from tourism and hospitality and travel institutions. But how often do you hear of them winning business awards in quality and customer service?

Well, Sandals Dunn’s River emerged a major winner at the  14th National Quality Awards Ceremony and Banquet at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel on Thursday, January 30. The awards come out of an association between the Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ) and the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce (MIIC).

The resort, which highlights Sandals’ new 2.0 standards, copped National Award for Excellence in Service and was also the winner of Sectional Award for Service Excellence in the area of Customer Focus and Sectional Award for Excellence in Business Results.

This prestigious event celebrates and honour Jamaican companies that have demonstrated business excellence in four (4) major sectors: Manufacturing, Service, Micro, Small & Medium-sized Enterprises and Agriculture.

Since its inception in 2004, the NQA Programme has stood as Jamaica’s premier quality system-based awards initiative, celebrating exceptional achievements in quality management systems across the manufacturing, service, agricultural and small business sectors.

To be eligible for the awards, participating organisations had to undergo a comprehensive assessment process, beginning with the submission of a detailed self-assessment form and

culminating in an intensive audit conducted by BSJ-contracted auditors.

The results of this rigorous evaluation reaffirmed Jamaica’s commitment to fostering quality standards that drive innovation and global competitiveness.
