Sandals Royal Plantation, Ocho Rios hosted an evening of musical excellence in the Plantation Room on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 7:00 pm, featuring Rory Frankson.
Frankson is a contemporary classical singer with a visionary approach to interpreting and presenting his music. Performing widely in the USA, Canada & the Caribbean, he has opened for Deborah Cox; performed for Harry Belafonte and Heads of State, including the Queen and was featured in the March 2015 Ebony Magazine in an article entitled ‘Black Men Storming the Gates of Classical Opera’.
He is known to captivate your mind, teasing your senses through his elegant tone and personable performances. From Puccini and Pavarotti to Gershwin and Sinatra, this is the diversity of Rory Frankson’s repertoire. Frankson sings his way through the Caribbean at the various Sandals resorts, bringing his brand of classical music into the hotels and throughout the islands. He’s sold over 2,000 copies of his first album, ‘You Are the One’, which, for an indie artist with no airplay or publicity, is no small feat.
This is the first in a series of entertainment events at Sandals Royal Plantation which featured acts that represent the best of their genre. Patrons enjoyed the white-glove service that the resort is famous for as they sip on fine wines to accompany this operatic performance.
Proceeds went go to the Sandals Foundation, which is the philanthropic arm of Sandals Resorts International and is the culmination of three decade of dedication to playing a meaningful role in the lives of the communities where they operate across the Caribbean.
