Motorists in Ocho Rios, St Ann are getting fed up now with the long delays and confusion when, as happening this afternoon (May 31), resurfacing work is taking place on the Ocho Rios by pass road.
The disruptions started more than a month ago with the scraping of parts of the surface of the by-pass road, usually without notice.
It is the lack of notice and failure of the authorities to regulate traffic that is causing the distress among motorists.
A trip that normally takes five minutes can now take half an hour, depending on where the work is taking place. The police have told The Times that they are not usually aware about the work and only know about it when they start to get complaints or themselves come upon the road blocks.
Who is in charge? That’s the question the North Coast Times is again asking.
